Handicap

Over / Under

You bet on the combined total rather than the winner, which makes it useful when you have a read on how open a match will be but not on who takes it.

Dividing 1 by decimal odds gives a price-implied probability: 2.50 implies 40%, without proving the true chance. For a complete, mutually exclusive market from one snapshot, any excess of the total above 100% is overround. It is not your guaranteed loss rate.

Live betting

In-play markets update as a match develops, so you can bet with far more information than before kick-off. The trade-off is time pressure: odds move quickly and hurried decisions are where discipline slips.

Staking discipline
