Four ways a slot counts a win

Understanding which system a game uses tells you more about how it will behave than any theme or artwork.

Paylines

The oldest system. Fixed lines run across the reels and matching symbols pay only when they land on one of them. A matching symbol just off the line counts for nothing. Fortune Tiger (5 lines) and the Fortune Gems family work this way.

Ways

No fixed lines: the number of symbols on each reel is multiplied together to produce the number of winning combinations. Super Ace offers 1,024 ways. In a Megaways title such as 5 Lions Megaways the reel heights change every spin, so the count moves with them, peaking at 117,649.

Scatter pays

Games like Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza and Starlight Princess have no paylines at all. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid pay, and winning symbols are then removed so new ones can fall — a single spin can resolve into several consecutive wins.

Cluster pays

Sugar Rush 1000 uses a 7×7 grid where five or more adjacent matching symbols form a cluster. Winning positions keep a multiplier marker that grows across consecutive tumbles.

What “Feature Buy” really costs

Some slots offer a feature buy that charges a multiple of the base stake to enter a bonus round. Read the displayed price, rules and RTP for that specific mode before confirming. A feature buy concentrates the cost into one round and does not guarantee a return.

Reading RTP correctly

An RTP of 96% describes the average return across millions of spins, not what happens in an hour. It does not mean 96 kyat comes back for every 100 staked in a session. Volatility is the separate figure that tells you whether a game pays small and often or rarely and large; two games can share an RTP and feel completely different.

Each spin is an independent event. A game that has not paid for a long stretch is not “due” — previous results have no influence on the next one.
